It Has Been A While...

Welcome back ME!

Obviously there is a lot that has happened over the course of one month, a week, and one day. For starters, my nanny job with Lilli has ended, Robby has come home for R&R and left, and I am coming to the end of long days of fun-filled reading and online videos for school. That's right! I am getting close to becoming a certified medical secretary. Woooo. Don't act like you're not impressed.

Among those milestones, Robby and I were blessed by a family friend with the opportunity to stay at their lakehouse for his first week home and spent the second week with family. It was an incredibly precious time which obviously went by way too fast; however, on the bright side Robby will be home in LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS so that is truly exciting and definitely smile inducing. I know all of the family will be happy to have him back in the states and not that it is a competition or anything, but I think I will be the most happy ;). Overly happy really.

Once Robby left to go back to Iraq, I headed straight to College Station to spend time with my mom and to use her busy-body-ness to keep me distracted from the lonely sense that my husband was gone once again. She is a super lovely lady and a pro at keeping me busy. On one of our many comings and goings we went to Brenham to do some antique shopping and I found the cutest little low boy chest that I repurposed to be our TV stand. It was a completely unexpected find too. Every other antique shop was closed at 10am on Saturday morning (go figure) so we were just wandering around the quiet streets and happened into this tiny, and I do mean tiny, little "antique" shop. It wasn't really a shop at all, it was an after thought to a hearing aid store. Just one little room in the back with some old stuff. Turned out to be my lucky day. Only one store open and it had the most perfect piece of furniture. I should mention that I had long since been looking for a stand to place our television upon and nothing stood out and said "I'm unique". Well friends, I found it. Rest easy. I have added a picture below for you to see. It is kind of sad though, I have no pictures from when Robby was home, but I have a photo of some random piece of furniture. BUT! In my defense, I was way too busy having fun with my Love to worry with a camera. Just sayin'...

Welp, I am sure there is more I could write about, but it has been a long time and to go on would take up more than one page and I don't think you nor I would enjoy that very much....
Needless to say I enjoyed having my husband home tremendously, I was sad to see him leave again, but I am very much looking forward to his return home once again. This time for good... at least until a possible next time.

Happy Mother's Day

This past weekend was Mother's Day weekend and my mom came to visit and we had a blast. We went to dinner at the delicious restaurant at Zocca on the Riverwalk and later watched the King's Speech. Such a great movie, well worth owning if you like period movies- which Rob and I do. Then on Sunday I made a special brunch for both my mom and Sharon. Two women who are definitely deserving of a little spoiling. It wasn't much, but it was fun spending time together and having a little fellowship with both the motherly influences in my life. Peter was there too, but it was all about the moms.

Overall it was a good day :)
There is not much new with Rob. We are getting really excited because sometime within the next two weeks he will be home on R&R. Well, ideally within the next two weeks. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! We will have been seperated for SEVEN months and that is just too long for anyone to be apart from their husband and best friend. BUT I am so proud of his service and I could not ask for a more amazing husband. Other than this exciting monumental event of Robby coming home for two weeks, there is not much to update on. He is still attempting to finish everything on his to-do list. It is coming down to the wire and there still isn't enough hours in the day, but he is surviving. He has been able to spend some more time with his dad which is always good for him. Rob's dad offers support and encouragement in a desert place and I know we are both thankful for that and for the opportunities they have been able to meet. Needless to say, God is faithful.

In other news this week is my last full week with Lilli and next Wednesday will officially be my last day. I am definitely going to miss the little munchkin who has taught me so much, but with the end of this job brings the beginning of Rob's R&R so yes, I am ready. One good-bye brings another hello and that hello has been long awaited for. I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Usama bin Laden is No More

I think the fact that Usama bin Laden has been killed is indeed blog worthy. Mostly I just want to gush over the troops. For nearly ten years the world has been searching for one man. One man who caused mass destruction and devastation and changed the lives of not only Americans, but the lives of people around the world. Usama bin Laden admittedly planned and was the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks. That fateful day left millions in mourning and on this day justice has been served.

As an American and more so as an Army wife, I could not be more proud today. Our troops have done a helluva job fighting this war. We first took down Saddam and now bin Laden. Of course the war is far from over and al Qaeda may retaliate, but I agree with Bush- this victory is monumental in showing our dedication to winning this war. Watching Americans come together to celebrate in DC and Ground Zero and all over the world was extremely moving and encouraging. People seem to forget the daily sacrifices soldiers and their families are making and to see such appreciation and pride in/for our country and troops was just... just absolutely amazing and I am grateful for this victory and God's constant provision.

What an exciting day for the Aggies at Mozul! I am seriously grateful for individuals who take time to travel among the different FOBs to show appreciation and recognition of our servicemen and women. This particular visit was mostly for Aggies, but what can I say? There is a bond between Aggies that goes on forever. It does not matter what year you graduated or how old you are (or are not) nor how much experience you have, all that matters is that golden ring. I may not have graduated from Texas A&M, but boy am I proud of my Aggie husband and I am blessed with the knowledge that he has that extra support and community. WHOOP! Go Aggies :)

Fool Me Even Once, Shame On Me

Consumer beware!!! Seriously take caution.

Recently I received a phone call telling me I was a preferred Master Card customer and they wanted to show their appreciation by sending me this package deal. It was free as long as I canceled the two included subscriptions (one for identity theft and the other for SIX magazines) within two weeks. Needless to say my strong desire to avoid any fees motivated me greatly and I canceled both within two days. All should be well, right? No.

Two days ago I received a phone call from the magazine company saying I was going to have to pay $50 a month for 13 months...WHAT?!? They told me I did not cancel my subscription in time and now I was obligated to pay for the package of six, I reapeat, SIX magazines that I didn't even want. Let me say too that I already subscribe to three magazines that I DO want and all three I willingly and knowingly paid for all up front with no monthly payment. That would have meant I was getting NINE magazines a month. Ummmm, no. So after being bullied by the "customer service supervisor" I felt hopeless and stupid for making such a costly mistake. BUT thank God for a wonderful husband who provides comfort and solace and understanding. He was patient and encouraged me to try to fight this so-called obligation. Which I did after I finished my pity party and wallowing in despair over losing so much money. I spent some time praying about my situation and decided to start at the beginning with the company that originally called with said promotional package. Thank Heavens their number was still in my phone! The company in turn provided me the number I was previously given to cancel both identity theft and my obligations to a certain magazine company. When I called guess what... I don't think you are going to guess this... okay are you ready? As it turns out I did IN FACT cancel my trial periods on time. The lady I spoke with said the individuals calling me were just trying to pressure me into paying for  and actually committing to a subscription. She then informed me to just hang up if they call again because I had indeed canceled EVERYTHING on time. Let me remind you though the caller from the skeevy magazine company said I owed them and there was no way out of my contract, I was obligated to pay for something I NEVER EVEN HAD. Seriously!? This is how a company does business. Bully people into believing they have an outstanding balance and accidentally committed to something outrageous! Rude and seriously unjust.

Anywho, because this company had my card number I had to call and cancel my card and get a new number and go through a huge hassle and ordeal just to figure out I was right and they falsely accused me of owing them money. I say again that these people are rude and they know exactly what they are doing. Manipulating consumers by threatening them and pushing them around is the way they make money. Sad, but apparently true. It is a huge scam! Which Dave Ramsey talks about in his books and teaches you in Financial Peace University, where thankfully my darling husband was paying attention and knew I was being boonswaggled.

Additionally when I spoke to the lady at USAA she told me this happens ALL the time. You have to be careful. Even if you say no, there have been incidents where they still insist you owe them money. Just hang up. As long as they don't have your card number and you do not approve a charge to your account you should be good. Something else to keep in mind, the USAA rep said that if you get a call like I did, you need to hang up and call your bank or card company and ask THEM if they have the same promotion... that is if you want it bad enough otherwise just say no. Stranger danger! I will never EVER accept such an offer and will probably avoid all unknown calls for the rest of my life.

Side note: Normally in a circumstance such as the original phone call, I would just say NO from the beginning, but they already knew my MC number so I thought they were legitimate. Stupid I know, but lesson learned... the hard way. Hopefully this was a lesson you could learn through my experience. Trust me it is uber stressful and emotionally exhausting. LEARN NOW.

Another Day; A Late Post

I realize it has been over a week now and I apologize. I actually have been trying to think about something to write, but there is nothing new to really speak on.

Rob's schedule has once again changed and he no longer has a regular shift in the TOC. The new schedule gives him the next two weeks off and then he will work overnight for a full week at which point he will be off again for 2-3 weeks. Who knows how long this schedule will last, but I know Rob hopes it remains for as long as they do. He has continued attending Bible Studay and church with his dad and aside from being stressed from an extensive (and still growing) "to do" list he is doing well.

As for me, I am down to 17 more days of working with Lilli. I am tired and missing my Bible Study but looking forward to starting one with my mom-in-law soon.

Like I said, really lacking in updates.

The biggest news for this week is Rob and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary this past Tuesday. It is too bad my Sweetie is over seas, but it was a special day nonetheless. Being married to your best friend for literally FOREVER is absolutely amazing and such a gift. Niether of us can believe it has been two years already. On one hand it seems like we just got married yesterday and on the other, it is almost like we have been married for YEARS. Like we are already old souls who have grown together over years of experience; however, we are far from being old. Although, it does make me excited for the years to come. Learning more about one another and knowing each so intimately well... it will make for an interesting 50 more years I am sure about that.

Well friends, that is the most in updated news I have for you a week and a half later than my last post. I am sorry for lacking in diligence and information, but I am doing the best I can. I pray your weekend is blessed and abundant in joy.

Big Milestone in 47th Company Deployment

What an exciting day it is for the men and women of the 47th EOD OD CO and their families. Today we have officially reached 6 months from the day they left. We have made it to HALF-WAY THROUGH THIS LOOOOOOONG DEPLOYMENT! Congratulations!

Boy! I tell you, this seperation has been one of ups and downs and everything in between. I can't believe how time has seemed to fly and yet the day-to-days seem to slowly inch by at a snails pace. Either way, I am thankful we are in April and at the peak of this season of seperation. However, despite everyday being a day of longing, I am so incredibly proud of the man I married and overjoyed for the growth I have seen in him and have experienced myself through this (seemingly never-ending) trial.

God has been good and He is faithful. Praise Him for getting me through this valley and for the time of growth. I could not be more proud of my amazing spouse and I am sure the other wives of the 47th EOD CO would say the same.

Bring on October! Whoop!

One Week Summed Up In One Post

Now that it is Saturday and I am fairly abundant in time, I figured I would continue with our week after the previous post.

Monday was uneventful, so was Tuesday, however Wednesday for both Rob and I was delightful. We both went to Bible study. This was Rob's first chance to attend and he was able to meet up with his dad and two other guys that his dad knows and head over to get some much needed fellowship. Although the message was one Rob had heard before he was thankful for the time with fellow believers and the opportunity to meet some new people. He isn't a social man, but he does okay for himself :). After the class he spent a little bit of time talking and hanging out with his dad, but he couldn't stay very long due to the fact he had to get back to work. Praise God that Pilger, Rob's platoon sergeant, was willing to sit in for a few hours so Rob could have that time of spiritual growth. God has faithfully provided for Rob's needs and we are grateful that even in these times of "less than ideal circumstances" God is present and working for our good.

In contrast to Rob's first Bible study, mine is coming to a close. This Wednesday will be my last class and that is just plain sad. We have been covering the book of Jonah and as much as I would love to write you all about it- I will have to wait because that is a whole blog all by itself. I will say this, the lessons have been very convicting, thought provoking, and amusing too. Oh Jonah! You silly prophet.

Thursday was blessed for me as well. I was able to spend four wonderful hours with the Owens'. Mr. Bob and Mrs. Anne. They are such a wise and loving couple. I told my mom-in-law that I hope Rob and I are that cute and lovey-dovey when we get old. They are seriously darling together and let me tell you, they can ask you some serious questions that make you think and evaluate yourself. It was so much fun! Mrs. Owens made a DElicious dinner consisting of pork loin and roasted veggies, with green beans, a spring salad, and yummy artisan bread. Needless to say I was stuffed like a turkey at Thanksgiving. haha! The whole evening was so much fun. Although they are quite my elders, they have a barrel of energy that kept them talking and laughing until it was time to go. I would have loved to stay longer and I bet they would have loved it too, but it was a week night afterall and some of us like to get LOTS of sleep before waking up at 5am ;). Yet, despite the fact I didn't get as much sleep as I needed, I was still so glad I went and it was totally worth it.

Now we are back to Friday which was pretty exciting for Rob. He met the current Secretary of Defense, and former president of Texas A&M, Dr. Robert Gates. Rob got to shake his hand and Dr. Gates then took a picture with all the Aggies. Such a special time. Unfortunately the picture was taken by a photographer following Dr. Gates, so we will not have a picture until anytime from four to eight weeks. However, Rob was able to get a picture with Katie Couric. I asked him why he wanted one with her (sort of surprised) and he was like "I didn't really... but thought someone might have wanted me to" I just laughed. I'm telling you people, my husband is a handsome amazing man who is one big delightful goof. SERIOUSLY LOVE HIM! Other than that big event there was not much else going on for him. He had some work to get done and some exercise to do and not much else. In sum, I would say it was a decent day off for him.

My Friday though was uneventful except for the fact that IT WAS MY NEPHEW'S BIRTHDAY!!! Happy birthday my neat-o nephew!! Love you Colby! Haha! He is going to love the fact I just announced my love for him to the world of my friends. You know how twelve year old boys are. Too cool for love and mushy gushy stuff. Love it!

Baby Awakened=Diminished Blogging Time

Well, it has been a week exactly. I feel as though there is so much to talk about, but I also find myself at a loss for words. Where do I begin? I suppose I could begin with Saturday and move on from there. Hmmm, maybe I could just rant and rave about what terrible drivers there are in San Antonio or perhaps the conspiracy between the Post Office and Google Maps. I don't know. Additionally, I am bummed because I have no photos to include or links to give. I realize am not quite at the top of my game with this whole blog thing. Trying to remember my camera on top of everything else I HAVE to remember has proven not only difficult but largely unsuccessful so I apologize for my lack of visual stimulation. Overall, I think a solution would be to begin trying to post more frequently.

Final Decision: Beginning and Ending With Saturday.
Because there are so many things I would like to write about and the fact that Lilli's nap was short and my time has quickly diminished, I will only cover Saturday. There will be more to come tomorrow.

Saturday was mostly uneventful for me, but Saturday night was a blast because I was able to celebrate the marriage of Candice Throckmorton to Luke Rouquette. It was a beautiful wedding! The color theme was pink and green with pink roses and tea light candles being the center pieces at the reception. It was surprisingly eye pleasing (to me because I am not a fan of pink) how well the two colors came together to make a very sophisticated and elegant event. It was also amazing seeing old friends and dancing to some oldies (but goodies!) . And let's not forget about the bride who was gorgeous! Absolutely, totally gorgeous! And yes, this would be one of those disappointing times I forgot my camera. Grrrrrrrr. I would have LOVED posting a picture of the beautiful bride and the delightful reception area, but alas, I am absent minded in my hurried ways *sigh*. No matter though, Candice and Luke were not phased by my lack of a camera, they looked happy and thrilled to be husband and wife and I could not be more excited for their new life as a married couple. I did find myself a tad envious though of their honeymoon location... Italy! However, despite the green on my face, my joy for them is far greater and I pray their travels and time together were blessed and memorable.

In summary, Saturday started off rather blah due to the vast amount of education consumption, but it ended as a great day. I maybe missed out on some sleep and yes my feet were killing me the next several days, but it was a blessed time full of fun. The only thing that would have made it a million times better would have been the presence of MY husband. No one provides me with as much fun and laughter as the silly handsome goof I married. I love that man o' mine!

Surprise! Another Post.

This is quite of the ordinary that I am once again writing on my blog. Don't get used to it ;). I just felt the need to share a picture of Lilli with everyone so people can see the doll I get to work with on a daily basis: M-F, 730-4. It is such a great job. I can literally roll out of bed and come to "work" in my gym clothes and Lilli does not judge me or tell me I am inappropriately dressed for my position. She just smiles, giggles, and blows rasberries while we keep each other entertained. I can't say that she appreciates me because I am not her food source, but she likes me and can enjoy our time together watching Mickey Mouse and playing on the floor. Like previously mentioned, she is an absolute doll. I just love this wee babe!


Lilliana Elise

 Lilli really is a precious little girl and it is SO adorable whenever she sees her mom. She squeals very loudly and bounces up and down or flails her entire body in pure joyous excitement. Her momma is definitely her most favorite person and it is so clear that they have a treasured bond. I am very blessed by this babe and the ability to work for such a great family.

Another very important fact to share with you all today is.... wait for it... IT IS APRIL 1st! We will officially be halfway through our deployment on April 12th. Only 11 more days and Rob and myself (and the rest of the 47th EOD CO) will be on the down hill part of this year of seperation. Additionally we are one month closer to May which brings Robby home on R&R. A two week stint that will hopefully provide my beloved some rest and relaxation. I cannot wait to see that man o' mine. However, the most important reason to get excited about April is EASTER. The celebration/reminder of Christ's rising. The fact that He was dead, but three days later was raised and lives! Praise Jesus for salvation and the hope of something better beyond this world. What a precious gift!

Maybe Not News Worthy, but...

So it is has been close to a week and although not much has happend, I figured it was time to update.

First things first, I have to give a big congrats to new parents Jeff and Rachael! Baby Jade is bound to be a sweetheart. Additionally I want to give a shout out to Candice Throckmorton who will become Mrs. Luke Roquette this Saturday. So happy for these little families who are in different stages, but each starting something new and exciting. I love you all will be praying for each of you in your new journey.
HOW EXCITING!

Now on to the less juicy and far less exciting day to day stuff. Rob is really enjoying his new shift. He has been able to get stuff done and find time to exercise and even more reason for rejoicing is that this work shift will allow him the time and opportunity to attend church. There is only one downside that we can find and that is our schedules are completely backward now; however, we are making it work and I am really happy that his late night work shift has provided him the free time he needs to cross things off his list of to-dos.

As for life here in San Antonio, there isn't much to say. It has been pretty uneventful. Last Sunday I was blessed with the opportunity to go see West Side Story at the Majestic Theatre. What a performance! The dancing and singing was great. During some of the songs  there were a few gestures that were very animated and may be a little much for those who have grown up in a different time. My generation isn't necessarily as sensitive to certain "actions" as our parents may be, so... see-er beware. Overall the show was worth seeing and I am grateful that I was able to see it before it left town.

In nanny-news Lilli is now rolling over from her front to her back. Super amazing. I cannot put into words just how fast babies really do grow up. No one word or combination of them can justly explain the fleeting moments that come and go. I left on Friday and came back on Monday to find out she is rolling over. That is how fast they grow. Everyday is a new day and is likely to produce a new form of growth. Pre-baby families who are looking to start a family one day in the future, I would advise that you try to cherish those little moments (even those stressful ones) because they truly do pass without much warning.

I will hopefully one day remember to bring my camera so I can post a picture of darling baby Lilli and I will do my best to try to continuously add photos that may make this blog a little more interesting for our friends and family that are eager to know about us and our lives.

Ole de Olives

Hello Blog Followers!

Hope these last few days have been swell for you. I know for one certain family (the Groves') yesterday was especially super. Congratulations to Ms. Meredith Groves and her fiance.

Today was a celebration of olives and as much fun as it was attending the Olives Ole, I am now very tired and in need of a nap, dehydrated from too much sodium, and stuffed to the gills with cheese. It was a delightfully fun time though. Plenty of olives to go around and I have officially tested the old theory too much of a good thing can indeed be bad. I have had my fill of those little green and black balls of goodness and I have also realized that I feel fairly content to be without cheese for a while too. Like I said though, fun day. I would do it again for sure. In addition to this day of celebration that has left me void of any more energy, I have plenty of school work to accomplish as well. I am thinking a one hour nap can help me be more efficient in my studies, don't you? Tomorrow has promise to be a busier day than I originally expected too. Lunch and West Side Story at the Majestic Theatre down town. Completely unexpected but greatly exciting. However, on top of that, I again have plenty of class work needing to be done. It is just looking like I will be unable to spend much time slacking off and watching movies or The Office while "working" on school related things. Although this weekend has turned into more than I had expected in terms of having time for education, I could not be more excited about all the fun opportunities that have come about. YAY for good things that distract me from school :).

Tonight was a good night for Robby because he was able to meet his dad for dinner. It is such a blessing for everyone that they are close enought to meet up with one another. Tomorrow has promise to be a great day as well because Robby will get to go to church with his dad and they will follow up a hopefully great sermon with lunch and fellowship.  Also starting tomorrow Robby will begin a new work schedule that will require him to be in the TOC from 4pm-12am. Despite our natural tendencies to be like WHAT?! He is actually pretty excited about this new shift because it will still allow him to get 8-9 hours of sleep and leaves the afternoon open to get other things on his "to do" list done. He has more than one job and he definitely stays very busy and can use those afternoons to accomplish all his assigned tasks/duties. So, overall this new shift is something he is looking forward to; sadly, however, it only lasts 2 weeks and then we shall see where he goes from there.

In addition to our everyday lives, Rob and I have both been learning how to be thankful IN every situation. Singing songs of praise is hard when you are walking or stumbling rather through the valley, but we are blessed. In order to remember God's graceful gifts we try to tell each other daily what we are thankful for because sometimes the negativity can be just so overwhelming and it is good for both of us to mentally spend time honing in on those things which are indeed blessings. Even those smallest gifts are worthy of our admiration and praise. God is faithful and for those who suffer during any given time it is important not to lose sight of his goodness so we can remain hopeful and reliant on Him. Finding joy in a desert place can be hard, but it is a lesson that is worth learning and one we are both learning and trying to be thankful for in the process of learning. Fortunately we already have a good foundation, now if only our hearts, feelings and minds weren't so stinkin' stubborn and deceitful...

On a completely different note that has nothing to do with Robby or myself, Lilli (the little 6 month old baby girl I nanny for) is blowing rasberries. SO precious. She has been doing it for a while now, but I just got to see her do it for the first time last week and it is THE CUTEST little thing anyone in the world could witness. Her little cheeks all puffed out and her tiny little tongue blowing and making a slobbery mess... seriously TOO cute.

Updates

Hello once again,

I may appear to be off to a good start with this blogging thing, but I am just preparing my excuse now for all future blogs or lack there of. I am only officially committing to doing one blog a week. Or should I say that I am committing to only attempting to write one blog a week.  I do actually hope to do more, but with life, I cannot promise to be better.

Now that I have cleared the air of any future failure ;) let me update all those who care about what is going on in the life of the fairly newly wedded Martin's.

Robby is in Iraq, as many of you already know. He is doing okay, but can always use support through prayer. Recently Russ, my father-in-law, has gone over to Iraq and they have been blessed with a great opportunity to see each other and fellowship together. I have to give praise to God for His faithfulness and the way He provides Robby with just what he needs, even if he doesn't realize his need for it at the time. He is a 1LT and will most likely make CPT once he gets home. He tells me that it is dry and dusty. He spends a lot of time sweeping his room and cleaning the sand off/out of his computer. We are able to talk frequently via Skype and we like to email each other too. We have lots of communication going on. He is scheduled for R&R in May sometime and we are very much looking forward to those two weeks together while at the same time dreading its end.

As for myself, I am living in San Antonio with my wonderful in-laws until Robby comes home officially in October. I take care of a precious (almost) 6 month old baby girl. SOOOOOO PRECIOUS!!! Most definitely love my job. I am also currently enrolled in a school program that will eventually lead to me being a certified medical secretary. Although the course allows up to 6 months to finish, I am planning to be done within 3-4 months. It is really not exciting and to be honest, I don't have a clue as to what I was thinking when I signed up for more schoolin'. Seriously?! I hate school. My only thought is I had a momentary lapse in my sanity. That must be right. Right?

Well, this is the most I have to say for now. Just a little update for all who wonder about us. I hope this post answered any/all of your questions. I will be back (hopefully) in another week to give you another update.

Um... yeah... soooooo...

Hello all who have not come to know my new blog yet, which would be everyone!

Many, if not all of you, may be wondering what the deal is with the new blog and why on earth am I all of a sudden choosing to REstart, and I shall tell you:

This evening Sharon, Peter, and myself were discussing Dan's blog which, consequently, no one in THIS house even knew it existed except for my sweet mother-in-law and then Peter made the comment that he liked my (only used twice ever) blog because it looked cool... or something to that effect. Either way it got me thinking that I needed to "try" again. Perhaps it could be beneficial for those who are interested in Robby or myself or even the both of us. I mean, why not?! We are quite the happenin' couple! I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be interested in hearing about our weeks. C'mon! These two home-bodies who like to do nothing more than eating pad thai while lying on the sofa watching The Office, Seinfeld, or quote movies and laugh our behinds off at our great comedic timing.

Oh yes, we are indeed worthy of a blog for YOUR entertainment. And in case you could not catch the subtle hint of sarcasm, no we are not actually this lazy unless it is a Friday night ;).

My not so obvious point is that I am reinventing my blog. Since my last post plenty has happened in our lives including the fact I have gotten a new email address and although I won't go into the annoyance of the whole thing, I could not use my old blog with my new email. Like I said, annoying. Something so seemingly simple was actually complex- to me- and resulted in me throwing out the old and bringing in the new.

So ready or not here we go, into the lives of the Martin's who in the beginning were in Florida, then Killeen, and now are seperated by a vast ocean supporting one another as best they can with Skype and email and prayers. God is faithful.
